Autoscaling - CloudAMQP Console

This feature is available on dedicated instances

Autoscaling automatically adjusts your instance's resources when usage crosses a threshold, so you do not have to react manually. You configure autoscaling actions under Automation → Autoscaling in the CloudAMQP Console, separately from the notification alarms on the Alarms screen.

Because these actions can increase your monthly bill, review the cost impact shown on the screen before you enable them.

Availability

Autoscaling is available on dedicated RabbitMQ and LavinMQ instances hosted on Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud Platform, Microsoft Azure, and Scaleway. The Automation menu appears only when autoscaling is available for your instance.

Disk auto-resize

When enabled, disk auto-resize increases your extra disk storage to the next size 25 → 50 → 100 → 250 → 500 → 1000 → 2000 GiB when free space stays below the configured threshold for longer than the time threshold.

Disk auto-resize only grows the disk; it never shrinks it back.

Time threshold

[seconds]
How long free space must stay below the value threshold before a resize is triggered.

Value threshold

[number]
The amount of free disk space that triggers a resize, in GB or as a percentage depending on the calculation type.

Calculation

[Fixed / Percentage]
With Fixed, the threshold is an exact amount of free disk space in GB. With Percentage, the threshold is the share of free disk space remaining.

Recipients [email address(es)]
Where to send a notification each time a resize is performed. You can select multiple recipients separated by comma.

Enabling, pausing, and removing

From the Automation → Autoscaling screen, fill in the thresholds and click Enable to activate an autoscaling action. Once active, use Disable to pause the action without losing its configuration, or Remove to delete it. A disabled action will not trigger resizes until it is enabled again.
